Directions
Here is a simple itinerary for visiting all 4 shops.
- Begin at Bequaert Old Books in Fitzwilliam. Take Route 119 East but almost immediately at the blinking light turn left (North) on Rt 12. Go roughly 4 miles to Troy. In Troy look for Water St. on your left (right after the bridge). Turn left onto Water St. and go straight ahead to the Stop sign. At the stop sign go straight ahead onto Russell Avenue. Aard Books is number 31 is on the right where Russell Ave. bends to the left. The mailbox reads "McLeavy Kelsey", (Travel time about 5 minutes)
- From Aard Books go back east on Russell Ave. Just beyond the stop sign turn left and then right to arrive at the Troy Town Common. Go around Common and North on Rt 12. In less than a quarter mile you'll come to a turnoff to the right with a convenience store below on the right. Take this turnoff and bear to the right where the road splits. After several miles this road dead ends into Rt. 124 (with a spectacular view of Mt. Monadnock). Turn left on Rt. 124 and follow it until it deadends into Route 101 in Marlborough. Turn right and immediately turn into the first entrance to the parking lot. Homestead Books is directly ahead. (Travel Time about 15 minutes)
- From Homestead Books go back east on Rt 101. Go all the way to the intersection with Route 12 in Keene (the first traffic light you come to). Turn right at this light and follow Main St. through the rotary and to the Town Square (after going through the main business district) Go around the Town Square and park on the West side of the Square. Eagle Books is just around the corner on West Street. (Travel Time about 12 minutes)
- To get from Eagle Books to Bequaert Old Books in Fitzwilliam, go south down Main St. At the traffic light go straight ahead. You will then be on Rt. 12. Follow Rt 12 south through Troy and then to Fitzwilliam. At the blinking light turn right on Rt. 119. Bequaert Old Books is on the left halfway up to the Town Common. (Travel Time about 25 minutes)
